This Ford truck was acquired by the Spencer family in 1950 for $300.00.
It was nicknamed the Red Ripper and was put to work. After
doing some research, we realized that 1937 was a unique year because very
few of these trucks still exist.

After careful consideration restoration started in 1986 by gutting the
interior. All the electrical wiring was replaced. Repairs were done
on the tilt windshield. A new headliner was installed. The radiator
grill which is a rare item with no replacement available was welded
and repaired.

In 1987 extensive bodywork began. All the years of hard work had taken
its toll on the body. The entire exterior which had multiple dents scratches
and rust was sanded down, filled and repaired. In 1990 it was rebuilt
mechanically. The brakes were replaced and a cooling fan was added to
stop overheating of the engine.

1992 started the finish work. It was painted a two tone fire engine red
and black. New upholstery and floor mats were installed. During the remainder
of the 90's detail items were added such as fog lamps, trim, horn, bed
chain and chrome hubcaps with the Ford V-8 logo.

Oak was custom cut, stained and fitted to the bed in 2000. Side rails
were cut and installed. Metal trim rails were screwed onto the flat bed.
In 2001 it received the final touches. The Red Ripper was waxed and detailed
to look its best for the 2001 Concours Car Show.
